Research Tools:

• Aerial maps and topographical maps:  Find maps and aerial satellite images online at USGS Explorer, http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov 

• For USGS Topographical Maps that you can search for by address and download, go to https://www.usgs.gov/programs/national-geospatial-program/national-map

• Most local counties have a version of a GIS mapping system online, where you can find your property by the address, parcel number or possibly even the owner’s name. To find your area, try a Google search with your county’s name and GIS, for instance, Yavapai County AZ GIS.

• And then there is always Google Satellite Maps at www.maps.google.com. 

• Arizona Public Reports: Sometimes these reports are old and out of date, but they may still give you some good information. You can find public report information for Arizona on the Arizona Department of Real Estate web site at: http://services.azre.gov/publicdatabase/Default.aspx.

• Water: Visit your state’s Water Resource Department web site. In Arizona you can get water resource information from http://www.azwater.gov/azdwr/ and for more precise information on wells, water tables, and water supply go to http://gisweb.azwater.gov/waterresourcedata/. You can also find a map of all the registered wells in Arizona at: https://gisweb.azwater.gov/WellRegistry/

• Flood information: Go to the FEMA flood information site at http://www.fema.gov to get information on most any property in the United States. Or go directly to find FEMA flood maps by entering an address, a place, or lon￾itude/latitude coordinates here: https://msc.fema.gov/portal

• Web Soil Survey Information: You can find this information at the USDA Natural Resource conservation Service (NRCS) web site, an online visual database used to explore the soil types within a user defined area. It shows specific soil profiles, soil types, class, depth, frequency of ponding, available water capacity, and more. Go to: http://websoilsurvey.sc.egov.usda.gov/App/HomePage.htmfind FEMA flood maps by entering an address, a place, or lon￾itude/latitude coordinates here: https://msc.fema.
